A Message from Mont Tremblant

The Holidays in Tremblant!

Tremblant is magical at Christmas. The pedestrian village, glowing with a myriad of twinkling lights, beckons us into a wonderland of festivities and fills hearts with the gladness of the season. Make the most of fabulous snow conditions to practice your favourite snow sport with family or friends. And don’t miss the traditional Christmas and New Year’s celebrations: a visit from Santa Claus himself on December 24 and, on December 31, be part of the traditional torchlight parade and marvel at the superb fireworks display that rings in the New Year at precisely midnight. Whether you’re hitting the slopes, strolling through the lively streets of the pedestrian village and its shops or enjoying a fine meal, Tremblant is sure to wrap you in its festive and joyful atmosphere!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Winter Wonderland

11 Days until Operation Conquest.  Snow on the ground in the tri-state area.  The number of trails creeping back up at Mont Tremblant.  Gondola collapse at Whistler-Blackcomb.

To paraphrase Meatloaf, 3 out of 4 ain’t bad.

Get ready.  The conquest is about to happen.  PQ Style.

Peak 2 Peak Gondola Open at Whistler

The gondola is open .  The Olympics are near.  That can only mean that the PQ Ski Team cannot be that far behind.

70! 70 Trails!

That's right!  It keeps getting better and better.  Wax up your skis/boards, it's going to be a white Christmas (Mojo permitting).

An Inspirational Message from Hans Gruber

“When Alexander saw the breadth of his domain he wept, for there were no more worlds to conquer”

Domination begins with OPERATION CONQUEST.

Let’s do this.

Important Tremblant Announcement

And... begin:

First of all, I would like to say how excited I am to be completely and totally dominating Mont Tremblant with all of you in 16 days.  On behalf of the entire PQ Ski Team, I would like to welcome you, in advance, to the Great White North.  I have no doubts that this will be one spectacular trip.  Perhaps our greatest trip ever; but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Every PQ Ski Team trip needs a proper operational title.

Therefore, without further ado, I would like to present the official name for this, the 12th Tremblant trip:

Operation Conquest

"Why Operation Conquest?", you may ask.  Simple.  It is because Mont Tremblant is a mountain that asks, no, yearns to be conquered.  As the official PQ Ski Team credo states, we will "Ski Hard, Ski with Authority, and we will NOT give in to the mountain."  This trip is no exception.

Proper conquest is a team sport.  One cannot assume victory.  One cannot go it alone.  Conquest requires a concerted team effort.  We must stretch and redefine our boundaries as human beings.

We must constantly push forward, along even the most difficult of paths, to acheive our goals.

What are these goals I speak of?

As a team, we will conquer the trails, we will conquer the trees, we will conquer the moguls, we will conquer the Extreme Onction, we will conquer the poutine, we will conquer old ladies on the gondola, we will conquer Tom's lame Scott poles, we will conquer Le Lodge de la Montagne, we will conquer the bathrooms, we will conquer the spa, we will conquer the ski lessons, we will conquer the border patrol, we will conquer the beaver tails, and yeah, we'll even conquer frickin' Toufou.  We will never surrender.

Conquest is what this team is about and what the PQ Ski Team can make YOU all about.  So stick THAT in your pipe and smoke it, Mr. Anton Bryce.

P.S. - Tom will be bringing Michael Jackson's "Moonwalker" for daily inspirational readings.

SNOW!!!

What a treat this morning, folks!  I have never been so happy to shovel my driveway in my life.  And of course, if we're getting snow down here, it must be looking a lot more like Christmas up in the Great White North.

40 Trails open this morning if anyone is counting.  I know I am.
